Catching Up With Life
Hello to my blogger, twitter, Facebook and Google + friends and family
If you haven't noticed, I didn't post a new Lilith Escapes episode this past Friday.
Don't worry Lilith is doing fine and will return in a few weeks; the girl is a survivor has been since the beginning of time. But, I'm doing a project that begs my attention. In fact several projects.
I have the first of the trilogy novels in the hands of my editor, Patti O'Brien, a fellow member of the South Jersey Writers Group and a friend. I'm in the process of revising what needs to be tweaked and then off it goes; out into the publishing world, and hopefully, into your hand.
Beware the Harvesters is a paranormal/science fiction action romance. Emele is the main character; she doesn't know that she's Lilith until the end of book one.
Our writer's group is also preparing for another anthology. We need your help! check the link below to find out how you can help.

Other News:
Two of my grandkids graduate High School this June. Annie is going to college and
Jimmy is healed and joining the Marines; he wants to be a State Cop when he's done serving.
My sister Jane ( the one that I've been trying to kill since the day she was born! Only kidding; I love her) Is visiting us this summer.
My ghost hunting friends and I are trying to start our own investigative group; "Purveyors of Spirits and Other Oddities". I'll let you know how this goes.

Episode Sixty-three of Lilith's Escape
Lilith and the soldiers in the
front began to fight the zombies while Edward and the older children began
running towards the museum that could be seen in the distance. The little ones
were scared and were crying. Edward picked up one of the little ones in his
arms, while shouting to the others to keep running. Bradley was in the lead, making
sure they would not be surprised by any zombies coming out of the bushes, but
something was wrong. Someone was missing.
“Where’s Rita?” he shouted out to
Bradley.
“I thought she was keeping up,”
Bradley replied, but he had to keep the children moving.
Edward felt sick to his stomach and
when he saw Scouter coming up with the last of the children, he turned over the
boy he carried, to Scouter and said, “I’m going back for Rita.”
He ran as fast as he could, past
the soldiers and armed civilians who were putting up a good battle, past the
bodies of zombies who were cut down. But he couldn’t see Rita and called out
her name.
“I’m here,” she called out, the
sound coming from above Edward’s head. He looked up to see her wrapped around a
branch high in the tree.
“How the hell did…” he was about to
ask.
“Don’t ask…the baby’s coming, help
me,” she pleaded and then began to cry.
Edward didn’t know how or where he
found the strength, but he was able to get Rita down from that tree and then he
picked her up and began moving towards the other soldiers.
“I bet you’re cursing the day you
first climbed into that caddy,” Rita teased, trying to make light the dangerous
situation they were in.
“On days like this, yes,” he
answered, but when the sound of heavy artillery rang out in front of them, he
added, “Now what?”

Episode Fifty-nine of Lilith's Escape
“The king of England and his people
have fought the Illuminati tooth and nail. You might not recognize London
because of the bombings, but the king has kept his people free.” Scouter’s revelation
lifted the weight that was hanging over Edward ever since he arrived in this
time and place.
“First good news I’ve had since
arriving here. Is England the only place to survive?”
“Israel, Germany, the northern part
of France, the Swiss, parts of Canada, and here in our country, several Native
American tribes who have formed a resistance group at the Bitterroot Mountains,”
Scouter replied.
“We’re ready, move it guys,” Rita,
interrupted their conversation as she entered the area.
“Will you be okay?” Edward asked
Rita.
“We’ll soon find out,” she bravely
replied, but her expression told him otherwise.
After Edward, Scouter and Rita
joined the others, Tzaddik gave the signal and the trek to a new location begun.
Fear hung heavy in the air, and even the children were unusually silent. The
plan was to move underground, using the subway system until they would
eventually come above ground. The destination was a museum which was located in
the southern part of Philadelphia, in a park known as the ‘Lakes’.

Episode Fifty-six of Lilith's Escape
Rita and a few of the older boys
had somehow managed to get on to the steel beam that ran across the train
tracks. They threw what they had into the mob. It wasn’t enough to kill all the
zombies, but it helped by giving the resistance fighters time to regroup.
Lilith was still fighting the zombies
on the other side of the chain fence and didn’t look like she needed any back up,
so Edward and the others were left to take down the handful that hadn’t burned
to a crisp from the Molotov cocktails.
When the last zombie was put down,
Lilith joined the group. As she wiped her sword clean, she asked, “How many did
we lose?”
“One,” Tzaddik replied and then
pointed to a female soldier. “I put her out of her misery.”
Edward looked to where Tzaddik had
pointed and saw that the soldier had been shot in the head. “Are you sure that
she was infected?” There were no visible wounds.
Tzaddik glared at Edward and then
walked over to the woman’s corpse and flipped her onto her stomach. The back of
her tee-shirt in shreds, Edward saw that a chunk of flesh was missing from the
midsection of her back.
“We need to patch-up up the
entrance, make sure that the barricade holds in case of another attack.”
“Your enemy knows where you are,”
Edward said to Lilith.
“Maybe not, Bradley replied.

Episode Forty-seven of Lilith's Escape
He couldn’t get enough of her
blood, frantic, Edward bit into the flesh of her wrist to get at the warm liquid.
He wanted more even though he heard her cry out for him to stop, but she
sounded so far away and he was so thirsty.
“Let her go,” Tzaddik yelled out,
but Edward ignored him, until something heavy hit the side of his head and all
went black.
Edward heard Rita and Tzaddik
talking. He tried to move but he was tied up and his head hurt like the
dickens. What happened? He remembered that he was feeding...on her
blood, but he had lost control…did he hurt her? He tried to focus on the room,
but it spun wildly, making him dizzy. “Lilith”?
“Don’t move a muscle,” Rita
ordered.
“Why would he would
react this way? What went wrong?” Tzaddik asked someone. Edward heard the
fear in the old man’s voice.
“Lilith?” Edward’s query was met
with a swift kick to his side.
“Don’t move,” Rita warned.
“This wasn’t the first time that I
fed him,” Lilith replied.
Thank God! She was alive. Edward
turned his head towards the sound of her voice and called out to her. “Did I hurt you?”
Lilith and the Israeli soldier were
arguing and Rita stood over him with her rifle aimed at his head. “For your sake, I hope you
didn’t f_ _ _k up this mission.”
“Let me see him,” Lilith demanded. But as soon as she knelt next to Edward and touched his cheek, her sweet smell
hit his nostrils and the blood lust hit, full force. “You’ll need to
control your hunger, love, or they’ll kill you. Can you do this?”
Edward heard the click as Rita squeezed
on the trigger. He shook his head, blinked his eyes, tried to get out of the
madness he now found himself in and forced the hunger to the back
recess of his mind. “I…I’ll try.”
Edward felt sick to his stomach,
but he kept the hunger under control and watched as Lilith signaled to Tzaddik.
The old man held a machete in his hand and as he leaned over Edward, warned, “If
you try anything, I’ll kill you.”

Episode Forty-one of Lilith's Escape
“The attack began in 2017,
but it wasn’t a war. It was a global massacre,” Bradley replied.
“What happened?”
Edward asked the marine.
But Lilith was
impatient and called out to them, “There’s no time for chit chat, Edward.
You’ll get the facts after I interrogate the prisoner.”
She and the female
soldier were standing next to a doorway and although the lighting was poor, he
could see how pale Lilith had become. She would need to feed and soon and he was
guessing the prisoner would be the one on the menu. Jones gave a few precise
taps on the door, a code and one that Edward recognized. The door was unlocked
from the inside and opened by another man in uniform.
“Oh…it’s you. Are
we slumming today, goddess?” the man in the Israeli uniform teased. He was in
his late 50’s maybe early 60’s and where his left arm should be; the sleeve was
rolled up and pinned.
“Hello Tzaddik,”
Lilith replied and then kissed the soldier on the back of his remaining hand.
The man smiled and
replied, “I’m glad you’re here. We saved the dirt bag for you.”
“Who is that?”
Edward asked Bradley.
“He’s some type of
priest…and…” Bradley was interrupted by Jones who told them to hurry. Lilith
had already entered with the man known as Tzaddik and as Edward followed
Bradley and Jones into the tunnel, Bradley whispered, “That old man…can kill.”
“I hope so, he’s a
soldier,” Edward replied, watching as Jones secured the door.
“With his mind,”
Bradley replied and then hurried after the others.
Edward glanced back at
Jones and asked, “Did he say…?”
“Yep, now keep up
with the others,” she replied and gestured for Edward to start walking.
