Massacre on Game of Thrones

I haven’t read the books! I have them, but I haven’t had a moment to read them. I’m busy trying to keep my head above water; I can’t swim. If I had read the books, then I would have been prepared for last night’s shocker.

The Rains of Castamere started out fine. Robb Stark (Richard Madden), his pregnant bride, mother and army went to the Twins for a wedding. Edmur was to be married to one of Walder Frey’s (David Bradley) daughters. But there was some tension between the Starks and Frey. Why? Catelyn (Michelle Fairley) had promised Walder Frey that her son would marry into the family. She did this without telling her son, but Robb refused the offer and married Talisa (Oona Chaplin).  No big deal, it was just water under the bridge, right? Wrong!

The Wedding ceremony went without a hitch; the bride and groom (Edmur) were carried away to the bridal chamber after a night of food and drinks. Then Frey gave the signal for the musicians to play a tune and that’s when the sh_t hit the fan!

While the music played (Think of the baptismal scene from the Godfather) Robb, Talisa, Catelyn, and all Robb’s men were butchered. Damn!

Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) on the other hand is doing fine!

She has two stud muffins, Daario (Ed Skrein)

                                                                and Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen)

fighting for her attention, while they do all in their power to bring her closer to the Iron throne.

Jon Snow (Kit Harington) gets into a fight with the wildings when they try to kill a Northman. He doesn’t know that the Stark boys are on that farm.

After the dire wolves come to the rescue, Jon rides away and leaves Ygritte (Rose Leslie behind. Is he nuts? Have you seen her fight? She’s going to kill him; you know a woman scorned and all that stuff.

Next week is the season finale. I hope there are no weddings in this episode. My nerves can’t take it.
