Grimm: The Law of Sacrifice

Last night’s episode had Renard ready to die for his child and Adalind. While Nick and Renard peacefully discuss the best place for Adalind & the child to hide, Kelly observes a wesen F.B.I Agent giving orders to wesen assassins to take the child. Kelly is a Grimm Ninja Warrior and I love how easily she can take down an enemy. There is a big shoot out, and Nick helps Renard and Adalind escape for the time being, but where can Nick and Renard hide the mother and child? With the Royal Prince and his cohorts already on the way to Portland, Nick knows of only one haven.

Poor Monroe and Rosalee are getting it on hot and heavy when they receive a call from Nick. In one of the funniest conference calls, ever! Nick asks Monroe if he can bring a few guests to stay at his house. Monroe is a good friend and ally to Nick, and of course he says yes. I’ve never seen Monroe refuse Nick any request. But it is Monroe’s relationship to Rosalee and how they handle Nick’s constant requests for help (some of which are quite strange) that make this show work. No one can say that Monroe and Rosalee don’t have a sense of humor.

Rosalee and Monroe are now babysitting the woman not only responsible for Juliette’s coma, but also Nick’s Aunt Marie’s death. Kelly is also staying at the house guarding mother and child which is pretty funny since it was Kelly who, unknown to Adalind, killed Adalind’s mother. Monroe’s and Rosalee’s tiptoeing through this tricky wicket is priceless. But, not everyone is smiling.

The Prince shows up at the police station and flat out tells Renard that he will kill everyone unless he is given the child. See, it’s not that Eric loves the child, but that he wants to use her power to control the world. He’s a creep.

There is only one way to save this baby and it’s heartbreaking but necessary. Renard tricks Adalind into handing over the baby to him while she makes a police report on what occurred when they were attacked earlier in the night. It isn’t until she finds Kelly in the interrogation room that she realizes she’s been duped. Renard hands the infant over to the Prince.

Adalind sees the limo drive off with her baby and you can feel her loss. It was a very sad scene. The Prince never gets the baby onto the plane and back to Europe because on route to the airport, heavily armed rebels steal the child from him. I was very upset with the outcome and especially because that poor baby’s situation went from bad to worse. Would she be killed?

A truck drives down a lonely road with Kelly at the wheel and beside her, the child. Although Renard was in on the rescue of the child with the help of Nick, Monroe, Kelly and Hank, he will never know the child’s whereabouts. It’s safer that way. Kelly will protect that child with her life and there is a bond between the Ninja Grimm and the Wesen princess, but it was Adalind’s cries of grief for her missing baby that stayed with me long after the show ended.

Dragons, Wesen and Dead People...Oh My!

Game of Thrones is back tonight and I can’t wait to see why happens next. I love Daenerys and her dragons. The Mother of Dragons and the Unsullied is my favorite character on this show, but I also have other favorites like Tyrion (Peter Dinklage).

I’m hoping that Tyrion be able to keep Sansa (Sophie Turner) and himself safe from his sociopathic nephew? Jamie with the help of Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) has shed some of his bad boy image.

Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster Waldau) revealed that he can be good when he wants to, but now that he’s back home, will sister Cersei (Lena Headey) tempt the return of Jamie’s old ways? I hope not because I like the new Jaime. As for the Starks, season 3 was not kind to them. Let’s hope the Stark survivors, will find some respite on Season 4.

                                                                                   GRIMM

This past Friday on Grimm Nick (David Giuntoli) reunites with his Ninja Mom Kelly (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) who saved Adalind (Claire Coffee) and her infant daughter from assassins.

Adalind is safe and sound for the moment in Portland. Nick needs to protect the child, but Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) isn’t about to turn over his child.

Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) are working on the final arrangements for their wedding day. Rosalee has her dress and  Monroe has found a solution for Nick being the best man at his wedding; sunglasses.
                                                                   Resurrection

I’ll be watching Resurrection and will update you on that series on Monday. We left off with Caleb being arrested by Sheriff Langston and Bellamy, but it’s only the beginning and something is coming with the storm

Meet The Aswang on Grimm

Holy Shape shifters! Grimm was awesome last night. Adalind has a daughter and regains her powers. Adalind’s baby is showing off her own accomplishments, so let’s pray that we won’t have too much competition between mother and daughter fighting for power.

                                                                 Sgt. Wu with Sam
An Aswang Ate My Baby was all about Sgt. Wu (Reggie Lee), one of my favorite characters on the show, coming face to face with a nasty mythical creature that likes to eat unborn babies. Sgt. Wu’s childhood friend, Dana is pregnant with her first child. When Sgt. Wu is called to his friend’s house after she is attacked and found bleeding by her neighbor, we realize that Wu’s feelings run deeper than friendship, with Dana.

                                                                        Dana in hospital
The creature that attacked Dana is called an Aswang, and it’s one of the scariest creatures I’ve seen on Grimm. Scared the hell out of me!  This creature reminded me of Gollum from the Lord of the Rings, but only nastier. This creature shoves its long pointy tongue through a women’s belly button to suck out the amniotic fluid and eventually the child. Yuck big time!

Nick and Hank at the hospital
Wu is suspicious of Dana’s husband, Sam, but he can’t put his finger on why, so he calls in Nick and Hank. Nick and Hank figure out that Dana’s husband Sam, although not responsible for her attack, is related to the attacker. Meet the mother-in-law.

Dana's mother-in-law going after the baby a second time

Yes, Sam and his family are Aswangs, but mommy dearest needs the life-force of her son’s first born child in order to live a longer life. Nick and Hank disagree on telling Sgt. Wu what he is really dealing with, and Nick’s refusal to warn Sgt. Wu has dire consequences.

Luckily mommy dearest is killed, but not before attacking Dana and Sgt. Wu when he comes to her rescue. At the end of the show, Dana, Sam and fetus are doing fine, but Wu is not. He’s institutionalized and living in constant terror of his memories of fighting the creature .

This is one time that Hank should have been more forceful in his conviction to tell Sgt. Wu everything, but, Nick made the wrong choice and lost a friend.

Grimm, Season 3, Episode 10: Eyes of the Beholder

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

On the last episode of Grimm, there were secrets within secrets and Wesen coming out of the woodwork. Juliette has a friend staying with her. Alicia (Alicia Lagano) is a battered wife and at Juliette's urging leaves her husband Joe (Tom Walton) after a particularly bad beating.

Nick realizes that Alicia is a Wesen. She is a Fuchsbau like Rosalee. He mentions this to Juliette but tells her not to say anything to Alicia. Juliette is too excited to keep the secret to herself and tells Alicia that she knows what she is. Alicia tells Juliette that she's nuts and storms out of the kitchen. Alicia is upset, Juliette is upset and Nick just shakes his head. "Why did you say anything?".

Joe calls Juliette; he knows that Alicia is hiding there. Nick grabs the phone and tells Joe to use his head. You would think the dumb ass would keep away from his wife knowing that she is hiding at a policeman's home, but no...Wesen bullies are no smarter than their human counterparts. Joe is hiding in the bushes waiting to attack Alicia at the first opportunity.

Hank

The big guy is in love with his physical therapist, Zuri (Sharon Leal). He wants to be with her all the time. She feels the same way, but Hank hasn't been too lucky lately with his lady friends and is still recovering from his run in with Adalind.

Wesen Gangs

A young man, Jared (Dalpre Grayer) is at the diner flirting with the waitress who is his girlfriend. When he leaves to head home, he witnesses a gang attack on a man and woman.

The gang see him and are about to go after him, but another person walks out of the diner to see Jared speed off in his car, and the woman crying for help; her husband is dead. The police are called and from the older witness's description, they begin looking for Jared thinking he killed the man.

Surprise Surprise

When Nick, Hank and Sgt. Wu track down the driver of the get away car to his home, Hank is shocked to find out that Zuri and Jared are siblings.

Ouch! Zuri is not looking kindly on Hank when her brother is taken in for questioning. Jared finally admits that he is innocent and picks out the gang members from the police photos. Nick and Hank are puzzled about the whole Wesen gang scene and quickly head over to Monroe and Rosalee for advice.

So here is the second shocker! Rosalee knows everything about Wesen gangs because she went through a wild Fuchsbau naughty girl period in her life. But, the information that she has helps Nick and Hank with their investigation.  Wait I'm not done with my surprise. There's more.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Zuri and Jared are put in protective custody with Hank guarding them. But the Wesen gang has kidnapped Jared's girlfriend and he sneaks away to save her. While this is going on, Joe breaks into Nick's house and starts beating up on his wife.

Conclusion

Jared saves his girlfriend because he is a Wesen....Zuri is a Wesen, too and now there are three chewed up and dead gang members. Hank finds out that Zuri is Wesen.

But...what about Juliette, you ask? Who knew that Juliette could fight? She beat the living shit out of Joe. When Nick walked into the room, Joe almost had a coronary because Nick was a Grimm.

EVERYBODY WAS OUT OF THE CLOSET!!

Nick and Juliette know that Alicia and Joe are Wesen; and they know that Nick is Grimm; Monroe knows that Rosalee walked on the dark side, but he doesn't care; Hank knows Zuri and Jared are Wesen and he doesn't care; Zuri knows Nick is a Grimm and she's not happy. The only loser in tonight's show is Hank. Zuri dropped him like a hot bun. Poor Hank.

I absolutely love Grimm and with Dracula following immediately after, Friday night's just got kick-ass great.   Kudos to NBC

Grimm Returns with a New Season of Horror

I couldn’t wait for Grimm to return, especially with last season’s cliff hanger where Nick (David Giuntoli) was poisoned by the voodoo priest, Baron Samedi (Reg E Cathey) and thrown into a coffin to be taken out of the country to Austria per order of Eric Renard (James Frain), the corrupt half-brother of Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz).

This season opened with Nick being loaded onto a private jet, while his friends the zombies. No not the Walking Dead type of zombies, but people under the control of Baron Samedi’s green spit. Yes the Baron is a monster and one of many that Nick must fight having inherited the job from a long line of Grimms.

Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) are busy fighting back the people who were changed (at least mentally) by the Baron into a raving mindless mob.

Luckily Rosalie concocted a large batch of anti- poison and is able to save the box car full of “zombies”

But, when the Captain, Hank ( Russell Hornsby), Monroe and Juliette finally figure out how Nick will be taken from them, they’re too late to stop the jet, and off it goes into the wild blue yonder. Baron Samedi is feeling pretty good with the successful kidnapping until Nick breaks his way out of the coffin.

Nick doesn’t react the same way to the Baron’s green spit and is able to ignore the Baron’s futile attempts at mind control. They struggle and the plane crashes before it gets very far. The show ends with Nick stumbling away from the crash site and into a biker bar, where he proceeds to tear the place apart.  By the time his friends reach the bar, Nick is gone. While this is going on, Adalind, (Claire Coffee) is having her own problems with Stefania(Shohreh Aghadashloo) and Frau Pech (Mary McDonald-Lewis), but in the end, she gets her mojo back.

I don’t know if I can survive until next Friday to find out what happens to Nick!!! I love this show, and as far as I’m concerned, this is how you do a good supernatural cop show. Watch Grimm on Friday nights at 9 p.m. on NBC followed by Dracula starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers

Grimm, Season Finale

Say it isn’t so, Grimm has been zombified!
And Eric is taking him away from Juliette and his friends. The season finale was a shocker. Baron Samedi is using his Wesen powers to make zombies.

Not the “Walking Dead” zombies, but Voodoo Black Magic zombies; not dead, but they sure are angry.

Rosalee and Monroe find a cure from one of the spell books in the Spice Shop and later bring back one of the victims. They need a lot of magic juice and Juliette wants to help.

But when they head out to fight the Baron and his zombies; there are too many. Nick is captured and put under the spell, and the zombified Grimm is taken away by Eric.

Will Monroe save Nick? Will Juliette and Nick ever get it on again? Will Nick star on season 4 of “The Walking Dead?

Adalind is having her own set of problems. Frau Peck and Stefania fight for possession of Adalind’s baby. Frau Peck takes on Adalind’s image only to be defeated by Stefania.

Next week, Game of Thrones returns and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Game of Thrones and a Zombified Grimm

In my last post about Game of Thrones, I wrote about Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and how much I love this character. Last night we watched her work her magic again; she has a new admirer and supporter, Daario Naharis (Ed Skrein), a leader with The Second Sons, who eliminated his two comrades after they ordered him to kill Daenerys.

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) was married to Sansa Stark (Sophia Turner); a forced marriage for both, but Tyrion was a gentleman and Sansa is still virgin.

Good thing too, because Sansa’s handmaid, Shae (Sibel Kekilli) would have killed him; Tyrion and Shae are lovers and soul mates.

Although Daenerys holds the title of “Kick Ass Heroine” there is a second runner up.

Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) a warrior and knight of the house of Tarth is charged with the chore of returning Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau safely to his home in exchange for the two Stark daughters, Sansa and Arya (Maisie Williams). Over time Brienna and Jaime form a friendship based on respect and understanding, but there might be feelings there that neither are aware of, yet.

Last week, Brienne was in a fight for her life with a huge grizzly bear as entertainment for her captors, but Jaime risked his freedom and very life to go back and save her. Will respect turn to love? I would love to see Brienne and Jaime together.

Grimm

Season finale will have zombies and you know I’ll be watching the show. Baron Samedi (Reg E. Cathey) a Wesen creature known as a Cracher Mortel is using his lethal saliva to create an undead army.

Grimm (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) need to fine the Baron and fast. While this is going on Rosalee (Bree Turner) and Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) introduce Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) to the world of Wesen creatures. Make sure you watch this on Tuesday night on NBC at 10 p.m.
