Sisters Part 5, Parties, Roaches and a Dash of Tonto

The Sisters at the Academy of Natural Science

This was a busy 4th of July weekend spent with family. Good news, so far, I haven’t killed my sister Jane; I did come close to the dastardly deed during our second trip to the Laundromat. I use bleach; she doesn't.

We headed over to Philly and the Academy to say hello to my friends and to see the new exhibit, Glow. We had a ball and I got to hold my favorite bug. Yes it's ugly, but I like them and they've been here for a very long time.

The weekend was a flurry of activities: museums, picnics, fireworks, shopping, ice cream and a great movie. This past Friday, Jane, Lucy, my husband and me went to the Pop Shop for dinner. My husband is still getting accustomed to the sisters even after thirty three years of marriage. He wanted real food; we didn’t.

Banana Splits were ordered and even Dan caved in to the impulse. Bad move! If you thought I was hyper energy before, you haven’t seen me on a sugar high. We had time to kill before the movie so we headed to the Deptford Mall. As you can see, we’re still fighting off that sugar high

Dan made believe he didn’t know us.

We went to see The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger. The movie was great!!

I'll keep you all updated on the  next adventure of The Sisters

Birthdays and grandsons

All three of my daughter’s sons were born in June. I wanted to do something special for them and asked them for suggestions.

After vetoing the first three,
No! I can't walk and chew gum
                                           No! and don't ask again.

                                               Hell no!
we settled on a day in Philly, but we had to hold off on the trip because I was busy getting things ready for my trip to California.

Jimmy has a job now, so he was unable to spend the day out with us and I missed his editorial comments on the trip.

Josh and Nathan love going to China town

and especially to their favorite restaurant, the Empress Garden.

We had a fine lunch and then headed over to the Philadelphia Visitor’s Center to purchase tickets.

The boys wanted to ride on a double decker bus and take a tour of the city. I’ve never done this, so we were all excited to try it out. We chose the Big Bus.

Here we are before the bus starts the tour.

It was a very hot day so we didn’t look as perky at the end of the ride,

but… the tour guide knew his stuff and we did enjoy the tour.

And we may have even spotted Elvis!

We took the train back to Jersey and met my husband at the Pop Shop.

 Best place for Ice Cream.

After the ice cream, we went to see a movie, which I wasn’t so sure that I wanted to see because it was yet another movie about Spiderman. How many ways can you see Spiderman before you get bored?

I was pleasantly surprised at how good it turned out to be.

Next week, I’ll be going to Laurel Hill Cemetery

to do a little ghost hunting

and I’m sure that I’ll have some great pictures to share with you on my next blog.

Have a great weekend and a productive week.
