Game of Thrones is Back

Holy mother of dragons! Game of Thrones was well worth the wait and we can expect season 4 to be one of intrigue, action, and backroom deals. Jaime is back at home with his family, but they are more like strangers after his long stay away from home.

Tywin will never win any awards for father of the year, but his disrespectful attitude towards his older son, Jamie is right out shameful. What is it with some men that they have to put their children down at every opportunity, jealous of any success their children obtain in spite of the father's mistreatment. I actually know a few men like this. When their sons are old enough, they move away and cut off contact. I don't blame them.

Cersei is no better than daddy dearest and openly scoffs at Jaime’s loss of a body part. What a bitch. She is no better than her son. There is a moral compass missing in mother and son...and speaking of sonny boy, Joffrey; I'm surprised he hasn't been strangled in his sleep.
Joffrey, more like mommy dearest with each passing day, shows the same contempt for Jaime. This is a cruel child who likes to torture people.

I'm not sure how many slaves he's killed so far, but the number of people who want this sociopath dead, is growing.

Thankfully, for Jamie, he has a comrade in the Ninja warrior, Lady Brienne of Tarth.  She understands Jamie for what he is and yet she still likes him. She has seen him at his best.  I really do think that a lasting friendship was forged with these two and maybe it will develop into love.

I was surprised that Margaery and her grandmother Olenna Tyrell have welcomed Lady Brienne with open arms, but why not? You and I both know the hatred all three share for the sociopathic boy king. I'm hoping Margery's plan is to take over the throne as soon as she slips Joffrey some poison. One can only dream.

Tyrion is a good man, but despised by his family because of his stature. He's a better man than all of them and he's sexy too. He cares for the bride that was forced on him even though Sansa has withdrawn into her own little world because of the brutal slaying of her brother and mother.

Poor Tyrion is given the task of welcoming Oberyn Martell, a Danish prince who hates everything Lannister. Luckily for Tyrion, Bronn has his back.

The Hound is keeping Arya Stark safe. A strange bond between the two has been forged and for better or worse, I think, The Hound is loyal bound to this child. Where this leads the two, I'm not sure, but on first episode of the season, Arya with The Hound's help has taken her revenge against the man who took her sword.

Jon Snow is back on the wall and forgiven by Master Aemon. Ygritte on the other hand, is still pissed off at the crow man for leaving her. She and Thormund  have befriended the giant cannibals in their quest for revenge....that's if they don't wind up as a light snack for the Thenn.

I saved my most favorite character for last. I love Daenerys Targaryen! With Sir Jorah and Daario Naharis at her side and her army of Unsullied behind her, she is a force to be feared and that's not counting the dragons.

She'll need her dragons to give the slave owners of Meeren an ass kicking. These slave owners don't know who their dealing with. If they did, they would never have crucified 163 slave children to line the road to Meeren.

Episode Fifty-seven of Lilith's Escape

“Go on, Edward replied.

“I recognized most of those poor souls…they lived around here and the bridge underpass. I don’t think the enemy knows our whereabouts yet, but to make sure, we should move camp tonight.”

“There are too many of you, surely we’ll be noticed if we move camp.” Edward was worried about the children.

“There are tunnels within tunnels in the subway system. Our movements will go unnoticed,” Tzaddik added.

“I won’t leave until you're at the new location,” Edward replied as the oldest of the children climbed down from atop the barrier and ran past him and the soldiers and right up to Lilith. She hugged them to her, smiling as she listened to their excited chatter.

“She's not an evil creature…don’t hold her to your standards,” Tzaddik whispered to Edward.

He found it hard to believe that anyone would mistake Lilith as anything other than cold and manipulative, but right now, Edward was seeing a different side of her as she interacted with the children…no, she wasn’t evil, but she sure as hell wasn’t good. Did he care? No, as angry as he was with her, he still loved her.

“Let’s get this circus on the road. We have a date with the naval base tomorrow,” Scouter said, and then patted Edward on the shoulder.

Episode Fifty-two of Lilith's Escape

Episode Fifty-two of Lilith’s Escape

“We’re a little short on the surgical anesthetics normally used for this type of surgery, but I have these,” Doc said to Edward.

“What are they?” Edward asked as the doctor placed the pills into his hand and then handed him a canteen to drink from.

“Something like the LSD from your time period, but just a tad stronger…you’ll be too busy tripping to notice the pain. Take them and lie down on that table.”

Edward did as he was told and then tried to get comfortable on the rather hard and cold metal table. “This looks like something they would use in a morgue.”

“It is…” That’s all Edward heard because he found himself falling through a tunnel only to land in the middle of what seemed to be a bizarre version of Alice’s Wonderland.

Lilith’s dragon was there and it wasn’t happy. Edward tried to run, but the beast blocked his way. When Edward tried to slip away, the dragon took hold of his nose and bit down hard. The pain was excruciating.

“You’ll never have her, mortal”, the creature scoffed. Edward felt his face only to find his nose was missing. “Your rescue mission will fail and you and these fools will all die,” the dragon added.

The dream was getting weirder by the minute. While the dragon taunted him, Edward could see his body lying on a burning pyre with the doctor (dressed as a knight) standing over him with a sword held over Edward’s neck. “You’re nothing but a hallucination,” Edward replied to the dragon.

“Am I?” The dragon raised its right foot and exposed its talons. As it made its move to strike, Edward heard a church bell ring out.

“They’re trying to break into our barricade,” someone yelled out over the incessant ringing. “You need to wake him, now!”

Episode Thirty-three of Lilith's Escape

Edward took his time washing the slime of the corpse from his face, arms and hands.

He wiped down his trousers and removed his shirt, throwing it on the floor, knowing that he would never wear it again. How long should he wait before returning to Lilith? He sure as hell didn’t want to upset that dragon again.

He walked over to the window and looked out upon the town below. As nice as this part of the world was, he was anxious to return to England. He was worried about his cat and his friend, James.

“I hope the cleaning lady remembers to feed Lizzie and I hope James hasn’t been visited by any zombies.”

He then headed over to the stairway and listened, waiting for a sign that it was safe to return to her. Would the beast still be there? And if it was, would it’s frustration at losing Lilith cause it to attack him? Knowing he needed to make sure she was unharmed, Edward started up the stone steps. As he climbed the stairs, he listened for whatever sound would clue him to the situation playing out in the bedroom. There was only silence, damn, that could mean so many things.

Finally he entered the bedroom, but where was she? Did she go with the angel after all? After taking a closer look, he saw her on the balcony, huddled like a child. Lilith sat there unaware that he was in the room, wiping the tears from her eyes. The beast was no longer there.

“Are you okay?” he asked. She nodded yes, but did not look his way. He stepped on to the balcony and took a seat next to her on the hard stone floor. “Lilith?”

“I broke his heart…sent him away…to be forgiven and healed. I know I did the right thing…but it hurts.” She looked up at the night sky and uttered, “Now, we’re even. Are you happy?”

Edward had no desire to find out who Lilith was speaking to. He had had enough of the mystical world for tonight. Tonight he needed to feel human and there was one sure way to accomplish this.

He stood and pulled Lilith to her feet and into his arms. She felt so light in his arms. “Lilith?”

“Yes, Edward.” She was giving her permission. “Yes before all of hell breaks down our door.” She then wrapped her arms around his neck.

He carried her to the bed and after climbing in next to her, whispered, “Just you and me, tonight. No hell, no heaven and no zombies.”

Part Thirty-Two of Lilith's Escape

Edward was worried about leaving Lilith alone, but the dragon was agitated by his being in the bedroom. “Are you safe with him? Shall I stay?” he asked.

Lilith was holding on tightly to the dragon’s neck, speaking in a language that was unfamiliar to Edward even though he was proficient in many languages.

“Go, you’re making him angry,” she replied and then returned her attention to the beast. She spoke to it in a soothing voice, “I have caused you nothing but pain and have torn you away from your comrades. Hush, hear me out…….”

The dragon stamped its right foot in anger, for it suspected what she was about to do. “Never,” it cried out in agony. The dragon smacked its tail with such force on the marble tiles of the balcony, that pieces of marble sprayed the room. Lifting its eyes from Lilith’s face, the dragon became aware that Edward was still in the room. It let out an ungodly howl and shot a ribbon of flame toward Edward.

“Leave us…please Edward,” Lilith begged, but Edward stood frozen to the spot until she added, “He would rather die than ever hurt me.”

Edward backed out of the room and watched as the dragon pulled Lilith close to its body with its long spiked tail. When he had reached the steps, Edward turned around to check on Lilith and for a moment, a blink of an eye, he saw the dragon morph into a beautiful winged warrior, an angel who held Lilith tightly in his arms.

But it was the briefest of moments and then the warrior became a dragon once more and as Edward made his way down the stone steps, the sobs from both lovers echoed behind him.

Part Thirty-one of Lilith's Escape

He was silent as he followed her up the stone steps which led to the bedroom.

He wanted her tonight, more than anything, but when she had entered the room, he remained at the door. She seemed to not notice and sat on the bed where she preceded to peel off her high heel leather boots.

It wasn’t until she had begun to rub her feet that she noticed he was still standing at the doorway.

“Why are you standing there? Come sit next to me.” She seemed puzzled by his reluctance to enter.

“Lilith, do you remember when you asked me to make love to you?”

“Yes, why?” she asked seductively as only she could, teasing him with her eyes, her lips, the simple act of rubbing her feet.

“What about the angel who's in love with you? What’s to keep him from tearing me apart if I even try to take you as mine?”

“So you think me a heartless succubus, using angels and men as toys?

Come sit with me and let me explain my actions,” she coaxed.

Edward entered the room and sat on the far side of the bed, but Lilith wasn’t happy and got on her knees and crawled over to him. She reminded him of his cat when it wanted to be petted. He pulled her into his arms and said, “Start explaining.”

“I love my angel, but I must give him up and free him from his punishment, to set things right. I must do this even though the very act of releasing him will bring me eternal sorrow. I must do what I was meant to do centuries ago.” She kissed Edward lightly on the lips.

“And what is that?” Edward asked but his attention was on her lips and how they tasted like cotton candy.

“I must mate with man.”

“Didn't Eve already do this?”

"She wasn't strong enough to change the gene pool."

             “And you are?”

"So Ive been told," she replied and then whispered in his ear, "and for tonight, I'm yours."

“And your lover agrees with this?” Edward asked and quickly glanced over his shoulder at the open balcony. He had heard something just then.

“I haven’t told him yet.”

“What?” He had heard a scrapping sound, but there was nothing on the balcony. “When do you intend to tell him?”

“Now,” she said and looked past Edward to the balcony.

Edward didn’t need to turn around, he knew who it was by the rising temperature of the room and the smell of sulfur.

“Go…wash the smell of death from your body while I talk to him.” Lilith urged Edward as she moved out of his arms and rose from the bed.
Edward headed towards the door but glanced back to catch Lilith with her arms around a not too happy dragon.
