Steampunk Granny on God's Way Television

I must give thanks to GOD for allowing me to "Do my thing" since retiring from the Academy of Natural Sciences. I have been on many adventures as Steampunk Granny and I am enjoying the ride... I meet such wonderful people and learn more about the world we live in...for example:

I was fortunate enough to meet a very lovely woman at the Psychic Healing & Expo that was held a few months ago in Blackwood, N. J.

I was selling my first two books of the Roof Oasis Series and doing psychic card readings using cards featuring the Blessed Mother. Adolphina Shephard stopped at my table to talk about my books. She was interested in reading my science fiction series that touched on many controversial topics that we are both were interested in. Later that week, Adolphina contacted me to say how much she'd enjoyed my books and then asked me to be a guest on a television show called God's Way.

Adolphina Shephard is a Public Figure-Creator and co-host of TV Show God's Way YTVY. Spiritual Teacher, & Meta-physician. Her co-host is Thomas Knights Templar, an Intuitive Spiritual Healer.

On the day of the show, my husband dropped me off at Adolphina's home where I met Karen Schlacter is a professional Palm Reader and psychic and has a book that will be out soon, called Masterpeace. Her passions are Tai Chi and Qigong - Vedic Palmistry - Karuna Reiki and Spiritualism

Once we reached New York, Thomas treated the entire staff to a wonderful dinner and I watched as the stage was set for the programming. It was such a great learning lesson and I love to see how things are done behind the scenes with producer Brian La Payower.

The Big Apple

I have a lot of friends and family who’ve traveled to the bustling city of New York City on many occasions. They all come back praising the city and eager to share their adventures there. I can say honestly say that until this past Sunday, I was unable to give an honest opinion about the place...oh I’ve been there...or close to it...many times, but never dipped my toes, so to speak.

The first time I had the chance, ‘had’ being the operative word here, to visit NY was almost forty-seven years ago. I was newly married to husband #1. We decided to join his cousin and his wife one night for dinner and somehow the plan was hatched to take a quick ride to New York and check out the sights. This was before google maps and GPS devices. The car we rode up in was already exhibiting signs of an early death, but when you’re young...you’re adventurous and stupid.

Did we take a map? Nope! Did we have enough gas? Yeah, right!  No, we just jumped into the car and headed north. We had been on the road for some time when cousin shouts out, “I think that’s the Brooklyn Bridge.”

Wow, the Brooklyn Bridge! I was so excited to see the bright lights and the fabled Times Square. Did I mention that we didn’t take a map? After the fourth time of driving over the Brooklyn Bridge and not knowing where the hell we were, or why we kept winding up at that stupid bridge, we gave up and headed home.

Big Apple Part 2

My second husband had no desire to visit New York, ever. He was a Philadelphia Fire Fighter until he retired and also had a side job as a truck driver. His experience with traffic, as a truck driver, had turned him off to ever visiting the place. Luckily, I was working at the Academy of Natural Sciences and our volunteers were treated to a yearly outing. One of the outings was to New York’s Museum of Natural Sciences. I had finally made it to the city, but because we were on a schedule, did not get to see the city itself.

Big Apple Part 3

Would I ever get to see the city? I had another opportunity to go to New York a couple of years ago, when my granddaughter, Allie Gilbert, was attending Moore College of Art and Design. She was part of their big yearly fashion show and needed some swatches. She wanted me to keep her company. I was so excited to be asked to go with her, but while on the Mega Bus, it began to rain...let me rephrase this...it was a monsoon! Luckily I had an umbrella, but that was lost quickly in the crowd. My velour jumpsuit was soaking wet and hanging from my body as my granddaughter dragged me from one fabric store to another.
                                 Camden Comic Con

We were on a tight schedule as the bus did not wait for anyone and Allie had to be back in time for a class. At one point, I asked, “Allie, are we near Time’s Square?”
Her reply, “It’s that way, Grandmom, but we don’t have the time to visit.” She took hold of my hand and continued pulling me from one street to the next. Big sigh...I arrived back in Philly, soggy, cold, and doomed, so I thought, to never enjoy New York.

Big Apple Part 4
My friend, Jean, and her husband Rich travel to New York all the time. Rich was born and raised there and, Jean had worked and lived in the city for many years. Traffic did not bother them; they were experts at dodging crazy drivers. Jean needed to visit two big beads shops in order to make charms for dog and cat collars. This is something she is planning on selling. I'll let you know when.

Jean asked me if I would like to come spend the day with them. “Will we actually be able to walk around and visit some of the tourist spots,” I asked, as flashbacks of the ‘swatch’ collecting debacle flashed through my mind.
Jean & Marie at the Grand Central Station

Jean’s assurance that we would see as much as possible sealed the deal and I went with her. I had a ball! We did visit the two stores and then visited Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Plaza, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and finally had drinks at the Tavern on the Green in Grand Central Park. We even met the very hospitable Proprietor of the Tavern, Jim Caiola.

I finally got to see the Big Apple in style and, I’m going back with Jean to visit even more places once this heat wave passes. I loved New York City, but guess what? NYC reminded me a lot of my own home town, Philadelphia. The City of Brotherly Love has pretty much all the razzle and dazzle that the Big Apple offers, only smaller and less congested.

I’m going to visit the Big Apple again, but you can bet that I’ll be encouraging the people of New York to come visit our Little Apple.

Episode Forty-one of Lilith's Escape

“The attack began in 2017, but it wasn’t a war. It was a global massacre,” Bradley replied.

“What happened?” Edward asked the marine.

But Lilith was impatient and called out to them, “There’s no time for chit chat, Edward. You’ll get the facts after I interrogate the prisoner.”

She and the female soldier were standing next to a doorway and although the lighting was poor, he could see how pale Lilith had become. She would need to feed and soon and he was guessing the prisoner would be the one on the menu. Jones gave a few precise taps on the door, a code and one that Edward recognized. The door was unlocked from the inside and opened by another man in uniform.

“Oh…it’s you. Are we slumming today, goddess?” the man in the Israeli uniform teased. He was in his late 50’s maybe early 60’s and where his left arm should be; the sleeve was rolled up and pinned.

“Hello Tzaddik,” Lilith replied and then kissed the soldier on the back of his remaining hand.

The man smiled and replied, “I’m glad you’re here. We saved the dirt bag for you.”

“Who is that?” Edward asked Bradley.

“He’s some type of priest…and…” Bradley was interrupted by Jones who told them to hurry. Lilith had already entered with the man known as Tzaddik and as Edward followed Bradley and Jones into the tunnel, Bradley whispered, “That old man…can kill.”

“I hope so, he’s a soldier,” Edward replied, watching as Jones secured the door.

“With his mind,” Bradley replied and then hurried after the others.

Edward glanced back at Jones and asked, “Did he say…?”

“Yep, now keep up with the others,” she replied and gestured for Edward to start walking.

Episode Forty of Lilith's Escape

“He’s a friend,” Lilith replied to the couple who stood before her. The woman and man were both dressed in faded and torn military garb. Not immediately familiar with the uniform they wore; Edward looked for some form of insignia

and recognized the U.S. Marine badge on their camouflage clothing.

“I’m First Lieutenant Tom Bradley and this soldier here is First Sgt. Brenda Jones.” The male soldier put out his hand to Edward.

“It’s good to see that the Marines are in control,” Edward replied as he shook Bradley’s hand. Edward then extended his hand to First Sgt. Jones, but she kept her arms folded.

“You didn’t tell him?” Bradley asked Lilith. Edward picked up from the tone of the soldier’s voice that he was upset with Lilith.

“Did you finish questioning the prisoner?” Lilith asked ignoring the Lieutenant’s question.

“Yes, they’ve already begun to infect people with the blood.”

Lilith was visibly angry and stamped her right foot. She reminded Edward of a spoiled child every time she did this and he had to hide his grin from the others.

“Bring me to him,” she demanded. Lilith and Edward followed the others as they made their way deeper into the city.

They finally made their way down one of the stairways which led to the underground subway station.

It was a scene that Edward wasn’t expecting. The train that stood motionless on the rails was totally destroyed.

It was most likely due to a powerful explosive, but it was the burnt remains of the countless dead, scattered on the platform and throughout the torn and twisted metal that added to the nightmarish scene.

“When did this war start?” Edward asked Bradley.

Episode Thirty-nine of Lilith's Escape

Lilith instructed Edward to use the oars and not the motor on the row boat. “We don’t want to attract any attention to us,” she warned.

Edward’s arms were aching by the time they had crossed over to the other side of the river.

“Pull the boat over to the side and cover it with the camouflage net,” Lilith ordered. While he did this, he noticed her speaking into a small hand held object.

“Who were you talking to and what is that in your hand?” Edward asked Lilith when she had finished her conversation.

When she realized why he was puzzled, she laughed. “I’m sorry. I forget that you’re from the past. This is a cell phone and I’ve just contacted our team.”

“So, it's like a walkie talkie?” he asked and took the phone into his hand.

“Better,” she replied and watched as he examined the phone.

He pressed a symbol on the screen and when mapping coordinates opened up, he asked, “Is this showing where we are?”

“There are satellites up there that can pinpoint our exact location. They’re here, come on,” she said and walked towards the barbed wire fence.

Edward gave one last glance over his shoulder to where the statue of Liberty once stood. He couldn’t shake the feeling that his own beloved England was in the same disintegration as the States. Holding the phone in his hand, he hurried after Lilith and towards the two people standing in the shadows.

“Who the hell is he?” the male warrior asked Lilith.
