Steampunk Works, a Steampunk Boutique

Steampunk Works also known as Accents and Antiques is an Amazing Shop on the main street of Audubon, N.J.

I know my blog followers are now aware of how much I love anything Steampunk from my blog, twitter and facebook. Today’s post will be about a quaint little shop nestled among the other thriving businesses on Merchant Street in Audubon, New Jersey.

I had the pleasure of meeting Lee, aka Lady Eleeza and Ralph, aka Commander Von Cobert from the S.S. Airship Amsterdam at one of the Dorian’s Parlor Events in Philadelphia

Ralph and his lovely sometimes undead bride started out as antique dealers

with a flair for finding great and unusual Victorian items to becoming owners of one of the best kept secrets in our little town.

Steampunk Works, located at 117 West Merchant Street, is a lovely combination of accessories, some vintage Victorian clothing and the latest designs and creations put together by Lee and Ralph.

The shop is opened from Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 to 5 and you can also call them at 856-383-4676, or visit them on their site:   www.steampunkworks.com

The world of Steampunk was unknown to the general public a few years ago, but that is quickly changing. With movies like Sherlock Holmes, Steampunk is becoming more popular with men and woman who want to feel elegant and proper. My guess is that any woman will feel quite the princess if she buys an outfit from Steampunk Works.

The Commander and his lovely undead bride are enlarging their boutique by adding more selections such as, pirate, gothic, burlesque and a larger collection of men’s clothing.

The beautiful fashions from Steampunk Works will be featured at several high end events this coming year.

On September 20 to the 28th, Steampunk Works clothing will be featured for a photo opportunity at Bombshell Pinups on 411 N. Haddon Ave.

Save the date and have your picture taken wearing some fine Victorian clothing and check out the reasonably priced picture packages.

October 19th to the 21rst, 2012 they will be featuring a big fashion show called “The Fashionable Dead” at mid-night at the Macabre Fair Grim Gathering Halloween Extravaganza at the Best Western Hotel in Rockville Center, New York.

They will be at Monsters Mania Hill Crown Plaza in Cherry Hill, this coming March 2013.

Steampunk Works will also be featured at the Teslacon Total Emersion into the Victorian Era in Madison Wisconsin from November 30th to December 2nd.

I had asked Lady Eleeza what her goals were for the future of Steampunk and her unique boutique and she said, “I want to put the name Steampunk Works on the lips and minds of everyone and to make the world of Steampunk more widely accepted. People can escape the cares of the world and play a character that they love and Steampunk followers are more open and accepting of all other Cosplay genre.

The Twitch Twitch Production Company in New York is working with Lee and Ralph on putting together a large event in this area that will include all genre groups, hopefully by the year 2015.

I don’t need a crystal ball to see this little store will be bringing in plenty of shoppers to our area and who knows, we might see them or their fashions on television.

And after you buy your outfit from Steampunk Works, you'll need an event to attend. Dorian's Parlor will be hosting a Steampunk Event on September 15th at the Double Tree Hotel. Check out the site below to find out more.
